It was a beautiful dusk in Rio de Janeiro. I was in my family´s home in Recreio dos Bandeirantes and I was trying to recover from how much I ate during lunch, having a conversation in the garden. My brother Lucas was playing with the dog and my mother was making the coffee. Sitting on the bench, which is under the lemon tree, my father was reading the newspaper and as he read the articles he would shake his head. “What’s going on in the world?” He looked worried but his eyes were as tender as usual. He had just retired and after years of dedication he would finally be able to enjoy good things in life. He could dedicate his time to doing things he really enjoys. That was my opinion. In his, it was sacrifice not to contribute to making this planet develops. He would like to keep working.
He was a great partner throughout life. He would make me breakfast and pick me up at school everyday. We would talk about everything and his advice were always enriching.
That afternoon he told me: “Life passes fast and before you know it, it’s been years! I hope you Enjoy!!!
When the alarm clock warned us that it was 6 pm, he quickly got up. He had to pick my cousin up at the airport so he rushed.
It was the last time I saw him alive…
Moments are irreplaceable. As are some people. Today I cried…
